Eldrún is a progressive metal powerhouse hailing from Reykjavík, Iceland. Formed in 2016, the band has consistently evolved, blending the ferocity of black metal with the melodic intricacies of progressive metal. Their sound is an emotional roller coaster, combining raw energy with haunting atmospheres that captivate listeners from start to finish.

Their self-titled debut album Eldrún (2018) quickly established the band as a bold, unique voice in the Icelandic rock and metal scenes. With complex arrangements, heavy riffs, and powerful vocals, the album set the stage for Eldrún’s musical journey.
Since then, Eldrún has undergone key lineup changes, with Björgvin Guðmundsson and Einar Jónsson joining as guitarists, bringing a fresh, new dynamic to the band’s sound. This shift has allowed the band to refine their style further and push creative boundaries.

With the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album Svarið (December 27, 2024), Eldrún takes a bold step forward. Produced by former band member Jon Dal, Svarið features 6 tracks (plus an intro) and builds on the musical foundation established in their debut while introducing new textures, more intricate arrangements, and an even deeper atmospheric exploration. The album reflects the band’s evolution—combining grit and intensity with a more refined and haunting sonic journey.
